Tungsten Carbide Thin-Wall Bushings are high-performance cylindrical wear-resistant components manufactured through advanced powder metallurgy technology. Composed of tungsten carbide (WC) as the hard phase and cobalt (Co) or nickel (Ni) as the binder phase, these bushings are produced via pressing and high-temperature sintering processes.
Widely used in petroleum machinery, pumps, bearing housings, and various rotating mechanisms, these bushings serve critical functions including shaft support and protection, wear reduction, sealing, and precision guidance. The thin-wall design addresses both lightweight requirements and durability under demanding operating conditions, making them ideal for applications with limited installation space or where weight sensitivity is a concern.
Tungsten carbide thin-wall bushings typically achieve a Rockwell hardness (HRA) of 89 to 93, far exceeding conventional steel or bronze bushings. In harsh environments involving particulate-laden media or slurries, their wear rate is extremely low, delivering a service life that is several times to more than ten times longer than tool steel bushings, significantly reducing equipment downtime for maintenance.
Tungsten carbide materials possess exceptional chemical stability, maintaining consistent performance in a wide range of corrosive media including alkalis, alcohols, ethers, acids, oils, and seawater. Even at elevated temperatures up to 500°C, the hardness remains essentially unchanged; at 1000°C, the material still retains relatively high hardness levels, making it suitable for high-temperature corrosive environments in chemical and petrochemical industries.
Tungsten carbide bushings offer extremely high compressive strength and bending strength (typically 1800-4000 MPa), enabling them to withstand prolonged heavy loads. With a low coefficient of thermal expansion and outstanding dimensional stability, the inner bore can be precision ground and polished to a mirror-like surface finish, ensuring high-precision concentricity and sealing performance with mating components.
